Meet the Founders
Megan Feken
Founder
Megan Feken is a Spiritual Event Coordinator, Astrologer, Meditation Guide, Psychic Medium, Mentor and Reiki Master Teacher with a passion for helping others in times of hardship, healing from past traumas and everyday well being. Reiki is a beautiful form of energy healing adopted from ancient cultures. The term “reiki” comes from the Japanese words “rei,” meaning universal, and “ki,” which means life force energy, that which flows through all living things. Reiki helps the client to relax which promotes the body’s natural healing response for a variety of physical, mental, energetic and spiritual symptoms such as depression, anxiety, stress, trouble sleeping, trauma, physical pain, overall wellbeing, etc.
Megan’s work blends energy healing, intuitive guidance, and compassionate support. Her own spiritual awakening began after the passing of her daughter, Marlee, on Christmas Day in 2022, a profound loss that opened the door to discovering her intuitive gifts and her soul’s purpose. Guided by Marlee’s light, Megan now helps others find comfort, clarity, and empowerment on their own healing journeys.
MJ Anderson
Founder
A dedicated medical intuitive, healer, and psychic medium, MJ is passionate about guiding others on their spiritual journeys. Drawing on experience in holistic wellness and medical mediumship, working with spirit she uncovers hidden patterns and illuminates the root causes of health issues, explaining how emotional and energetic factors can impact physical well-being.
A loving partner, proud mother of five, and doting grandmother, MJ fosters a nurturing and supportive family environment. Grounded in compassion and a profound understanding of the mind-body-spirit connection, her sessions are deeply transformative, empowering clients to heal on all levels.
Committed to continuous learning, MJ integrates various healing modalities, including meditation and mindfulness techniques, into her personalized and holistic approach. Each client's journey is unique, and MJ is dedicated to providing the support and guidance needed to achieve optimal health and well-being.
HOW THE TREEHOUSE CAME TO BE
Our StoryThe story of how the Treehouse came to be starts Christmas Day of 2022, when Megan’s daughter Marlee was unexpectedly stillborn at nearly 38 weeks gestation. Her death led Megan on a grief journey that prompted a spontaneous spiritual awakening just 3 short months after Marlee’s death, in March of 2023. A family friend recommended Megan try Reiki, an energy healing modality, to help with her grief. That first Reiki session changed Megan’s entire life. The Reiki practitioner shared with Megan that she had natural Reiki hands and that Marlee was with her in spirit. She taught her simple and practical ways she could start to connect with Marlee in spirit, and that journey of getting to know her in spirit was incredibly healing. Not only did it help Megan heal, but it helped her discover her own spiritual gifts. She continued working with a Reiki practitioner on a regular basis after that and just 6 months later decided she wanted to become a Reiki practitioner too and help other people in the way Reiki had helped her.
Fast forward another 9 months and Megan decided it was time to leave her corporate job of 8 years to pursue Reiki full time. She didn't have any clients lined up, she just took the leap. She was doing Reiki out of the mother-in-law suite at her dad's house in the Great Bridge area of Chesapeake and started hosting women's circles as a way to network and get the word out about her Reiki services. After 3 short months of doing women's circles, she was quickly outgrowing the space at her dad's for events. She had made so many friends who were practitioners of other spiritual modalities, psychic readers, healers, etc., and they were all wanting a commercial space to share their services, and that's when the idea of The Holistic Treehouse was born.
Megan decided to create a space where she could do her 1 on 1 Reiki services and also host her events, while allowing other practitioners to rent the space to do the same with their own services. She approached her aunt, MJ, who had helped her uncle build a successful local land design business, and asked her to be her business partner. MJ had also experienced a spontaneous spiritual awakening, a few years prior to Megan’s. At the same time Megan was learning Reiki, MJ was starting to discover her own energy healing abilities, and Megan was the exact push she needed to really pursue that path.
Just 6 short weeks after Megan approached her with the idea, they had their Grand Opening on November 11, 2024. A spiritually significant date in numerology, 11/11, about new beginnings. Looking back, it is still hard to believe that they were able to find a space in their ideal location, complete construction and a build out, and fully launch their business in such a short amount of time. No doubt, spirit was guiding them the whole way.
Since starting the Treehouse, they have grown in countless ways. The Treehouse has become a space for connection, healing, and shared experiences. What started as an idea has evolved into a community of incredible practitioners and members who continue to show up for one another in meaningful ways. Witnessing the relationships formed, the growth experienced, and the support created within the space has made it one of the most rewarding journeys.
