Long before they found their way onto modern divination tables, runes were the letters of ancient Germanic alphabets—symbols carved into wood, stone, bone, metal, and objects meant to endure. But runes were more than marks upon a surface. Throughout the Norse world, Runes were intertwined with story, mystery, poetry, magic, and the sacred act of giving meaning permanence. Each rune carries a name and a world of imagery within it—wealth, journeys, harvest, joy, transformation, protection and more. 

Today, many people work with these ancient symbols as tools for reflection, divination, intention, and personal meaning. Together, we’ll explore the Elder Futhark, its history and the stories held within its 24 runes before you choose the symbol that speaks most deeply to you.

Then, you’ll turn that meaning into something tangible: your own wooden amulet, painted with a rune, bindrune, or personal symbol of your own making that’s beautiful, magical, uniquely yours.
