The Witchy Woman Fall Day Retreat

For centuries, women who were intuitive, connected to nature, worked with plants, honored the cycles of the Earth, trusted their inner knowing or simply existed outside of what society expected of them were often feared, silenced or labeled as “witches.” And while we may not be living through the witch trials anymore, many of us still carry what has become known as the Witch Wound: the fear of being seen, speaking our truth, trusting our intuition, taking up space or fully stepping into our power.

The Witchy Woman Fall Day Retreat is a day devoted to exploring that wound and reclaiming the parts of ourselves we may have learned to suppress. Being a witchy woman does not have to mean casting spells or practicing witchcraft. To us, it means remembering our connection to ourselves, to other women and to the natural cycles happening within and around us.

This day is about reclaiming a word that has historically been used to make women and their power something to fear.

Patriarchal and colonial systems have sought to control women who existed outside of prescribed roles, including women who were unmarried, widowed, independent, spiritually influential or otherwise difficult to place under traditional authority. Many of these women served their communities as healers, midwives, herbalists, caretakers and keepers of generational wisdom. They created remedies from the Earth and were people their communities turned to for guidance, support and healing during some of life’s most vulnerable moments.

Over time, the image of the powerful, independent, intuitive woman became intertwined with something dangerous, shameful or even evil. This retreat is an invitation to question that story. What happens when we stop seeing the “witch” as something women were taught to fear and instead begin seeing her as an archetype of the woman who fully trusts herself?

The woman who knows her own power, listens to her intuition, honors the wisdom of her body, lives in relationship with nature and it’s cycles, supports and heals within her community and who refuses to make herself smaller simply because her power makes someone else uncomfortable!!!

“I feel like each still moment and meditation took me a step further to finding the clarity I needed. I hadn’t realized that the answers or guidance I needed didn’t have to come from an outside source. Instead, I just needed to reconnect with my inner self to know what my soul needs to move forward on my true path. I had intended on finding ways to turn to and root myself in the light more often, but I realized the light has been within all along and I just have to make time to connect with it.”

“The opening ceremony was my favorite part of the whole day. The meditation was so skillfully executed. It made me relaxed and open. The advice to stay present was invaluable. I struggle with this but also work to stay aware of what I can do to stay present. Thank you for such an amazing presentation and event!!”

“By incorporating the childhood photo into the inner child work I was really able to capture some of the pain and discomfort I experienced. I could see it in the photo! I was able to connect to my inner child better than I ever have. What a lovely gift! Thank you for incorporating that into the day! ”
